Confirmation has been received from the Chairman of the
International IFE Education Committee that the following equivalencies
have been awarded to the following IFE examinations.

Technician Grade Academic: PSTP Cert IV in Public Safety (Firefighting Supervision) will satisfy and therefore can be considered to be a general ICP precedent. IPD: As for academic above Summary: An individual who holds a PSTP Cert IV in Public Safety (Firefighting Supervision) and who wishes to be considered for TIFireE will only need to complete an application form and forward a copy of the PSTP certification to the National Secretary. (Previous TAFE reciprocity, i.e. prior to PSTP introduction, will apply as currently exists) Graduate Grade Academic: PSTP Cert IV in Public Safety (Firefighting Supervision) will satisfy the requirement for the following Graduate papers - Operations / Management & Supervision / Fire Safety. There will still be a requirement to satisfy the Fire Engineering Science element which could be met be the following examples - a: FES Grad paper; b: Alternative suitable qualification; c: Some PSTP Cert IVs may be OK (but this will require an assessment of the individual institution's PSTP course content); d: Technical report IPD: PSTP Cert IV will satisfy these requirements Summary: An individual who holds a PSTP Cert IV and who wishes to be considered for GIFireE will need to complete an application form and forward a copy of the PSTP certification and, in addition, provide the necessary evidence to satisfy the Fire Engineering Science requirement (Previous TAFE reciprocity, i.e. prior to PSTP introduction, will apply as currently exists) Member Grade Academic: In addition to the MIFireE exams, PSTP / TAFE Advanced Diploma with Member FES paper will satisfy. An alternative approach would be to apply under ICP with a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma. IPD: Awaiting completion of cross-mapping exercise to occur
If you hold the AFC certificates the following recognition is still applied.
If any member holds Certificate IV in Firefighting Supervision they can apply for the Intermediate Certificate and only need to attempt and be successful in Paper 1 (Fire Safety) and Paper 3 (Fire Engineering Science) to achieve Graduate Status. If any member holds Certificate IV in Fire Technology they can apply for the Intermediate Certificate and only need to attempt and be successful in Paper 2 (Firefighting Operations), Paper 3 (Fire Engineering Science) and Paper 4 (Management and Administration).
